Arunachalam
Hi there my name is Arunachalam and I graduated from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) with a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a specialisation in Mechatronics and Robotics and a minor in Life Sciences. During my undergraduate period, I was an engineering intern in Craft Health, a Pharmaceutical Drug Delivery company, enabled by 3D Printed Solutions, and worked with improving and automating workflows with the 3D printers and assisted in developing SOPs in preparation for GMP certification. During my undergraduate period, I also carried out research to examine the performance of thermal insulation materials and thicknesses, for thermal wall insulation in containers used for indoor hydroponic agriculture through CFD simulations under the Undergraduate Research Experience on Campus (URECA) program in NTU. For my final year thesis, my research focused on profiling the electrical and mechanical properties of neutrophils affected by various disease models (such as diabetes and heart disease) and neutrophil-platelet aggregates utilising an integrated microfluidic impedance cytometer. My main research interests rests at the intersection of engineering and biology, uncovering how computers and technology can be used to improve diagnostics and treatment outcome for various diseases. In my free time, I love to watch movies, play video games, volunteer and play some sports.
